#9 – Alanis Morissette
One of the
most successful singers during the 1990s (the decade before the digital era) was a Canadian crooner named Alanis Morissette. Morissette started her career in pop music before her alternative album, “Jagged Little Pill,” was released in 1995 and sold well over 30 million copies worldwide.
Morissette has won seven Grammy Awards to date, and her career is still going strong today, including the occasional acting role on the side to spice things up.
Born on June 1st, 1974, Morissette is actually the twin sister of Wade Morissette, a fellow musician. Although Wade’s music career never reached anywhere near the popularity of Alanis’s, Wade still managed to do well for himself, considering that he was named the “ambassador of Lululemon” back in 2004; a large reason for receiving the title was because Wade is really into yoga, and has been an instructor for the last two decades. Stay Zen, Mr. Wade, your career will pick up I’m sure.
